Alena Akhmadullina FW13/14 Collection is inspired by a Nordic tale “Three Fur-Coats” telling a story of a little white fox Lelu that, wishing to look lovely, asked Onko-Roi
the King of Foxes to give her a red then a silver and then a blue coat. However, these made her no happier and in the end, Lelu gladly took back her white coat.
The moral of the tale is, everyone is beautiful in his own way and our nature is both our power and our charm. This is exactly the idea in the heart of the collection. The collection can be basically divided in three parts.
The first part is all about Russian North. Its key motif is broken ice with sunlight playing on its facets; you can find it in the sharp lines of the models' cuts and in the smooth textiles and in contrasting colours, frosted lilac vs. icy purple vs. fuchsia.
The second part is about Northern clothes not Northern nature. Here, clothes are more cozy and softer to touch. Boucle is rediscovered in this collection. Colours also appear calm and sombre, like khaki and burgundy. Now the third part of the collection is evening-themed, with bold flowers, unusual texture combinations, and a variety of prints.
Unique prints of FW13/14 are used, as always, to support the key collection ideas, i.e. iced rosehips; little white foxes curled into balls; snow crystals; boughs; huskies; and the Moon. Alena Akhmadullina’s famous trademark, the fur items combine different colours, lengths and
textures. The furs used are mink, fox, squirrel, raccoon, muskrate, caracul.
