A strong and sensitive man, evoking the elegance of a Parisian bound for the south ofFrance; shores near and a far. A certain “Joie de vivre”, a live and let live way of lif
e “à laFrançais”.
These are the principles of this collection which has been created not only for the citydweller but for the man at leisure.Departing Paris in an impeccably tailored suit, mohair waistcoat, fine poplin shirt anddamask tie of fine silk; feet shodden in the “hearts and dove” espadrilles already impatientto alight for the French Riviera.
Step by step very quickly we adopt the captain’s blazer with its coat of arms, the O.O.W’sfrom Panama’s jacket in ivory tones, the sailor’s pullover whom at the first storm slips overa beautiful waxed hemp sailors waterproof.
Later we catch a brief glance of his”Cartograhié” t-shirt that points us in the direction of LaCamargue. An “Indienne provençale” batiste shirt is worn under a soft tailored “Donegal”jacket of cotton which is bonded to a striped fine cotton from Azur.At the ranch we try on dungarees in “toile de Nimes” or a pair of rustic linen striped pants with a shirt printed as though designed by children using an ink stamp. Over it we put ona perforated washed leather jacket. We knot a “Nueva” “Plaza de Toros” silk scarf around the neck “en clin d’oeil” at our hoststhe gardians.
There comes a time for a stop in the back country of Arlatan. We take out acid colour poloshirts, small jackets in bright colours and “pixelated” Vichy check shirts creating an outfitin the style of David Hockney travelling through Tarascon, Fontvieille or Maussane!
Finally for the “Beautiful” summer evenings we slip on an impeccable midnight blue tuxedo or, if we dare, we wear the patchwork woven silk jacket which is a “tribute” to the different labels used by the house since it’s creation in 1987.
