Inspired by the classic novel and
movie “Picnic at Hanging Rock”, telling a poetic, yet unsettling,story of ”turn of the century” girls, set at an all-girl Australian boarding school. The beautiful yethaunting story inspired the NOIR SS11 collection.
NOIR embraces the Victorian era and the delicate femininity herein. Starched cotton, delicatesemi-transparent high necks, and luxurious silk dresses for every occasion. Also drawinginspiration from classic New Look silhouette and the feminine icons of days past, with the refinednarrow waist and more dramatic hip, NOIR creates a modern silhouette. Always playing oncontrasts, the new femininity is set off by ultra sleek and sharp styles, with beautiful clean glossyleather, a return to suiting and classic Noir tailoring aiming to create elongated silhouettes.Creating together a very modern and sculptural look for spring/summer 2011.
With a very strong emphasis on Illuminati II, NOIR´s own organically and fair traded cotton, fromthe heart of Africa, combining a mix of the most delicate silks, laces and of course leather - asignature styling from NOIR.
Colours are very light and soft – nude rose shades, morning mist powder greys and hazy midnightblues set off against very strong black and clean white.
Vie en Noir this season is light, soft and feminine.
