Using few stylistic references, Pierre Hardy delivers an abstract Spring-Summer 2014 collection, featuring chromatic compositions. Color sets the tone; it is even affecting shap
es since it now also determines shoe sketches. Tonalities are architectured around certain models in a geometric manner, while others are more organic. Placed together, chopped or ultra harmonious, palettes define a playful, dynamic and joyful ambiance for the season.
BIKINI Super sexy because they have deep cut-outs, faux classics, pumps and sandals with thin straps come in three colors. Shoes are divided between two tints, an overtone in the front, another in the back, with a third enhancing the heel. Bright, tender, dark or neutral, nuances mingle haphazardly in order to improve coordination with the wardrobe.
CUFF Pointy pumps are designed with a boxy cube heel and a contrasted strap on the front of the foot. Derbies with a masculine spirit are also enhanced with a wide bandeau. This is a game of contrasts between sliced tints in mat and glazed leather (white/black, silver/black, beige/black/blue, black/white/silver)
SLASH Mat calfskin cuts raw, a big metal zip, an overflowing thick leather sole, an anatomic cut-out showcasing toes; Pierre Hardy composes models with a brutal spirit. Sandals are designed as high and short boots or slip-on mules, or even ankle bracelet sandals and gladiators with horizontal slits. Models are contrasted by heels with colorful lacquers (burgundy leather/white or black lacquer, reddish brown leather/black or blue lacquer, black leather/white or black lacquer, white leather/black or white lacquer).
SWING Pumps and sandals featuring a Velcro strap on the front redefine an Art Deco spirit as well as a futuristic one. Sensual and full shapes spread out with contrasting curves and tinted areas. Colors are layered (glazed beige leather/yellow/grey, brown/white/blue, petrol/beige/black even mat/shiny python).
DOME Curvaceous and sensual, the sketch of these open boots and sandals accompanies and underlines body curves. A new convex heel, curved towards the inside, provides subtle dynamics to the contours of these models in satin calfskin, velvet goatskin or snake.
WRAP Color tints twist around the foot like an asymmetrical wrapping to define pumps and sandals, monochrome or two-toned (mint, coral, black, peach, peach/burgundy). Both Art Deco and futuristic, these retro shoes are perched on a new convex heel.
LAVA Similar to flows of colors, spirals of leather define abstract and surrealist footwear that bring to mind the canvases of painter Yves Tanguy. Flat sandals, gladiators, open-toe pumps are perched on a new « drop» heel. These models come in monochrome or collages using skins and colors.
UOMO Pierre Hardy plays with the masculine classics to bring them an unusual feminine touch. He opens up a short riding boot on the side that gives it sensuality. Here, fantasy comes in three colors (navy/grey/burgundy). A chromatic system that he also applies to his classic men’s moccasin, offered in a mix of contrasting and fresh hues (yellow/grey/white/beige, coral/grey or black/white/grey).
LOOM Wide braiding of monochrome leather (black, beige or white) or multicolored (neutral or bright) compose ultra-flat sandals or with high heel platforms. Strips of metallic leather sometimes underline the strangeness of coloristic harmonies.
PEEKABOO Sheathing, sensual sandals, similar to boots, are enhanced with a Salomé cut-out featuring a playful tulle opening like a trompe l’œil. The choice of satiny calfskin in a range of neutral colors (camel, taupe, white or black) underlines the sophistication of the line.
PRISM Inspired by the Suprematism art movement, Pierre Hardy adorns closed or open boots, on the front or on the heel, with faceted cut-outs. He sets forth playful constructions between the monochrome leather tints (black or white) or multicolored (white/black/grey/yellow or grey/black/blue/white).
THE CLASSICS Classic pumps are renewed by new prints on reptile skins: either with netted patterns (black and white) or with different sized pinstripes (black/white or navy/red) as well as the use of metallic iridescent snake (blue, green, pink)
CASUAL Monoblock gladiators with wedge heels, laced, and flat ballerinas with an ankle strap, enhanced with a sole climbing to the top of the stem. In white leather, this graphic sole accentuates the optical effect associated with astripe print leather.
