The name of this collectiion is naska - not in reference to the karate organization, but in reference to the huge ancient Geoglyphs in peru that can best be seen by air. I like
the precision of the symbolic lines and the roughness and mystery of their execution. A weird balance of sophistication and crudeness that always delights me. Its generally assumeed that their purpose was ritualistic - and maybe like most rituals- an effort to group together in search of comfort and some answers.
This spring, I'm proposing crisp drapery , cotton robes and grey rough silk suits with their suggestion of timeless and borderless academia - a mans collective and personal pursuit of the comfort of knowing the most he can within the time he has to learn it.
