Inspired by the 70’s Riviera, Shourouk’s Fall 2013 collection celebrates an unseasonably phenomenon, the Indian summer. This particular heat wave that occurs in the autumn infused a collection whose substance is a celebration of the luxurious decadence of a free-minded elite travelling worldwide without any awareness of seasons.

Emphasizing the color palette, Shourouk is illustrating the wonders of nature, when the rose turns into orange, when the purple ripens to become plum and the yellow matures as safran. An all new range of colors appears during this particular lapse of time, creating an in-between state, when the summer blends into the autumn.

Still, for all of this automnal folk atmosphere on display, there is a sophistication as well. The braided necklaces are lavhisly adorned with Swarovski elements mixed into an elegant and soft jumble of painted stones. In this profusion of intricate embroideries, the faux pearl necklaces are lending a welcome of gentle opulence. Ornament to a socialite coming back from a retreat in Jaipur, heading to a party in Capri, they flow around the neck in a subtle delicateness.

As « the girl of the seventies », Marisa Berenson embodies perfectly the muse of this season. In a time when the disco beats were just a noise in the background, her freshness, elegance, and ease on the cover of the magazines made her rise above the common kitschy vibe of this period. She was the incarnation of a graceful fashion traveller. Shourouk is paying tribute to her tasteful fashion sense by channeling her Joaillerie fondness, reinventing the PVC bibs by giving them the allure of contemporary pendant shapes.

Alongside those graphical bibs enriched with delicate layers of Swarovski beads, the shoulder satchel bags capture the intensity of a summery fall, when the colors start to glow to their fullest potential. In Deep purple, Absinthe green, Coral red, the bags get bigger and brighter, miming a luxurious Messenger bag, embellished by intricate combination of gleaming embroideries.
