The Pre-Collection Spring Summer 2015, the quintessential Pucci moment, unfolds this season with the relaxed vibe of a glittering 1960s and 70s seaside. Fresh, flirty and breezy, the collection swings with a new ease. The sun and sea drenched mood centers around Brigitte Bardot and other muses from the glamorous Pucci jet-set era. Naval references pop up with a French touch and a romantic twist.
A crisp palette of piercing blues, lemon yellow, white with pink and mango-contrasted with bronze and beige-sets a cool tone for high summer.
Shapes are sporty and casual for a new urban ease. The ‘60s shift is a key silhouette, either on coats or short dresses. Separates, like flared trousers, mini-skirts, blousons and shorts, are calibrated for daytime. Long, languid trousers add a sensual 70s touch, contrasting with tailoring in cooler fabrics like cotton or rayon. Knitwear is key and worked into unusual fringed intarsias or crochet-style beach and pool cover-ups.
Pattern and embellishments are lighter, but handled with the House’s impeccable touch. San Gallo eyelet embroideries on crisp white cotton take the collection back to its Mediterranean roots. Breton stripes, Pucci-fied with large arabesque borders, are treated in two ways: either as flat prints or intricate geometric patchworked embroideries. The Zadig print from the 1970s comes back to life in a cool grey background or bronze with shots of pink and fuchsia, while new giant florals are splashed in breezy colors with touches of earthtones. Grommet embellishments float over jersey and lace, as well as on accessories.
For evening, the glamour is cut with a softer approach. Ankle grazing T-shirt dresses, slinking on and off the body in seconds, epitomize the ease. The collection’s seaside imprint continues with porthole motifs on maxi or mini dresses. Patent leather appears in navy and white or silver nappa. For a playful touch, intarsia fox and mink jackets take a dip into pastel dyes, mimicking the degrade effect on a silk crepe kaftan in lemon and sky blue.
Raffia visor hats and hobo bags are tossed on for a beachy, day look, while boots in brown suede or patent leather give an urban touch. Low heeled T-strap sandals are key accessory, perfect for skipping effortlessly around seaside or city streets.
